A beginners guide to starting their fitness journey in 2025.

As 2025 approaches, many people are setting new goals and resolutions to transform their health and fitness. If you’re a beginner, stepping into the fitness world might feel overwhelming, but don't worry, everyone starts somewhere, and it's never too late to begin. Here’s a simple guide to help you start your fitness journey this New Year.

1. Set Clear, Achievable Goals

Starting with specific, realistic goals will set you up for success. Whether you are wanting to improve your strength, lose weight, or become more active, break your larger goals into smaller ones. We use goal reviews to help you make a plan for those goals.

2. Start Slow and Build Gradually

Don’t rush into high volume and intense workouts right out of the gate. You could start with walking and bodyweight exercises like squats and push ups. We start everyone with 1 on 1 training to make sure we meet you where you’re at, build a relationship, and help build your confidence. Over time you’ll be able to workout more frequently and with more intensity.

3. Find Activities You Enjoy

Fitness is not just about hitting the gym – it’s about finding movement that makes you feel good. Whether it’s yoga, bodybuilding, running, CrossFit, or hiking, choose what’s most enjoyable for you. When you enjoy what you do, it won’t feel like a chore!

4. Create a Routine

Consistency is key in any fitness journey. Try to build a weekly workout schedule that fits into your life. Having a routine helps you stay motivated and track progress.

5. Fuel Your Body with Proper Nutrition

Exercise is important, but nutrition is just as important. Focus on eating whole foods (meat, vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar). Remember to stay hydrated and fuel your body for the activities you’re doing.

6. Celebrate Your Progress

Fitness is a journey, not a destination. Celebrate your wins, no matter how small they may seem. The smallest wins can still build great momentum.
