Why We Encourage 10,000 Steps a Day!

At our gym, we don’t just focus on what happens during your workout—we care about how you move throughout the rest of your day, too. One simple habit we encourage? Getting in around 10,000 steps a day.

You don’t need to hit that number perfectly every time, but making an effort to walk more can have a big impact on your health and how you feel overall.

Here’s why we’re fans of the 10k step habit:

  1. It supports recovery. Gentle movement like walking helps increase blood flow, which can reduce soreness and speed up recovery after a tough workout.

  2. It boosts your NEAT. That’s short for Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis—basically, all the calories you burn just moving around during the day. More steps = more daily energy expenditure without added stress on your body.

  3. It’s good for your mental health. A walk is often the easiest way to reset your headspace. Whether you’re clearing your mind after work or just taking a break from screen time, it helps lower stress and improve focus.

At the end of the day, walking is one of the simplest ways to stay active, support your training, and build long-term health—no gym required.

Looking for easy ways to sneak more steps into your day? Try these:

  • Park a little farther away from the store or your office.

  • Take short walking breaks during work instead of scrolling.

  • Do a quick 10-minute walk after meals.
