Hydration Tips for Beginners: Staying at Your Best
Starting a new exercise routine? Staying hydrated is one of the easiest ways to feel better and perform your best, no matter what activity you’re doing. Here are three simple hydration tips to help you get started!
Drink Water Regularly
Make it a habit to drink water throughout the day, not just during exercise. Keep a water bottle close at all times and aim to drink around half your body weight in ounces of water daily. For example: If you weigh 200lb then aim to drink 100oz. of water per day. It’ll keep you energized and help your body function at its best.Hydrate Before You Move
It’s a good idea to drink a glass of water 20–30 minutes before your workout. This gives your body enough time to absorb the water, so you’re not starting your exercise feeling dehydrated.Sip During and After Your Workout
Even if your workout is light, be sure to drink water during and after. This helps your muscles recover and replenishes what you lose through sweat. If you feel thirsty or tired, it's a sign you need more water. If your workout is longer and very sweaty then consider hydrating with electrolytes. My go-to is coconut water!
Hydration doesn’t have to be complicated—just make sure you're drinking enough water throughout your day and your workouts. You'll feel more energized, recover faster, and enjoy your new routine even more! Stay hydrated and keep moving! 💧
