5 Fitness Tips for Beginners!
If you are reading this, I’d first like to say welcome! You have most likely decided it’s time to get healthier. That’s fantastic! High five
With the internet quickly at our disposal we have access to unlimited information. That could be both good and bad. If there is one thing I've learned so far in life it’s that if you want to change your life you usually don’t need more information, you need more action. Here are 5 actionable tips you could take today or even right after reading this blog that could get you started to a healthier life.
Go outside more. This not only forces you to get up off of the couch but it also allows you to enjoy some Vitamin D which can improve your mood. You could even finish reading this blog outdoors. Set a timer for 10 minutes and enjoy the outdoors with zero distractions.
Go for a 20 to 30 minute walk. This continues off of the previous tip but now you are moving your body and that’s a good thing! You can accomplish both by going for a walk right now and not scrolling through your phone.
Drink more water! How much water you say? We usually recommend half your body weight in ounces of water. For example, If I weigh 200 lbs. then my goal would be to drink 100 ounces of water each day. That’s about 6 bottles of water a day. Go grab a bottle of water and drink up! (adjust your math for your personal goal)
Go to sleep earlier! Most people set an alarm to wake up. You should try to set an alarm to go to bed every night. Sleep is powerful. Try setting an alarm tonight to turn of the TV, put your phone away, and begin winding down. This could be an alarm 30 minutes before your actual bedtime so that you can start to relax and go to sleep on time.
Join a gym. Yes I am biased. If you feel like you need help and accountability then join a coaching gym. Find a gym (like ours) that offers coaching and has a community of like minded people that want to be healthier together. “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
There you have it. 5 Things you could do RIGH NOW to get you started. All you need to do is make the decision to start. What are you waiting for?
